The artifact is never the product.

Each piece begins with an original pottery sherd, surface collected in the Laguna Pueblo region. It's form and painted design become the inspiration for a single piece of hand-fabricated sterling silver jewelry.

Only one piece of jewelry is ever created from each sherd.

The original pottery is never altered or sold. Once the silver piece of jewelry has found its collector, the sherd is returned to the place where it was found and respectfully returned to the earth.

One Sherd. One Design. One Piece.

The decision to create only one silver piece from each original sherd is intentional.

Even when a design is especially beautiful, it is never reproduced again from that sherd. This honors both the original artifact and the individual hand that painted its design centuries ago.

HONORING THE FIRST ARTIST

Every painted line began with an Indigenous artist, centuries ago.

They formed the pottery and painted its design by hand. Though that artist's name may be unknown to us today, their artistry remains.

Every design begins with the hand of an ancestral artist. Every silver piece carries that artistry forward through the hand of a contemporary craftsman.

The clay may have broken centuries ago and, one day, it will return to the earth. The artistry, however, endures. Through contemporary craftsmanship, ancient designs are carried into a new medium - as a continuation of their story.
